sparkling water and a homemade Nutella pop tart? Welcome to my life!

Hey! You made it!

My name is Meghan… I started going by Meg as a way to be a completely different person on the internet and with my “health” instagram in hopes people I knew in real life wouldn’t find it. Well they did, and I’m happy to share this part of my life with them. And Meg just kind of stuck!

I am from just outside Cleveland, Ohio! I grew up on a very small cattle farm with my parents and sister where I really learned a lot about farm to table living, the importance of knowing and caring about where our food comes from, how to score a baseball game, and ridiculous love for ice cream.

I went to school at Bowling Green State University (Go Falcons!) and thats where I paid way too much money for incredible friends and to not find out what I want to do with my life. (But I do have a piece of paper that says otherwise.) I also met my now fiancé there, so I owe that amazing school my life!

As you can tell from that previous paragraph I really don’t know what I’m doing. And in the last 3 years I’ve figured out that that is completely ok. Your life doesn’t have to look a certain way. It doesn’t have to be how you imagined it would be when you were bored in English class your sophomore year of high school. No ones life turns out the way they thought. At least none of the people I know!

Although I don’t do it for work, I’ve found I have an incredible passion for our planet. Finding different ways to reduce my own waste, and brainstorming ways I can help local businesses do the same. I really love food, and supporting my local farmer. I love petting dogs, looking at pictures of dogs, pre-naming any potential dog I may own one day. I love the way walking through some crunchy leaves makes me feel and often pretend I’m in a movie when I’m driving around with some emotional Taylor Swift song playing.

I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life but only decided to not care in 2016, when I decided my actual health was more important than what the scale said. I’ve committed myself to eating the foods that I love (which are honestly vegetables, and amazing meats, and almond flour cookies) with out guilt or restrictions. I did my first Whole30 in February of 2017 and it changed the way I look at food for good! I love getting outside for a good long hike, sometimes I run, sometimes I skip, sometimes I walk slower than an 80 year old with one leg. I wish I could do yoga but I don’t bend very well. I can truly go ham at any wedding. (Invite me to yours, you won’t be disappointed.) I rarely drink, but if I do it is a Gin and Tonic because it makes me think of my grandparents. (even though they swear they don’t drink those)

I think health and wellness, and living a zero waste life should be easy and accessible for everyone, and I’m determined to figure out how they can actually become a real thing.

I love having fresh flowers and plants in my apartment. It feels way more like home and since I’m not allowed to have pets here, at least I have something to take care of when I come home from work.

Thanks for coming over to my corner of the internet. Let’s be friends.
